Tuition provides ongoing specialist support to develop literacy skills such as reading, spelling, writing and confidence. Sessions are tailored to the learner’s individual profile using a structured multisensory approach. Specialist literacy tuition starts from £50 per hour, depending on travel requirements.
A screening assessment is often a useful first step when there are concerns about literacy, dyslexia or learning differences. Screening includes parent/child questionnaires, assessment activities, a written summary report and recommendations for home and school support. Screening assessments cost £150 and may help identify whether further assessment or specialist intervention would be beneficial.
A full diagnostic assessment is more comprehensive and explores a learner’s strengths and difficulties in greater depth. This includes detailed assessment, analysis and a full written report with recommendations to support understanding, intervention planning and school support. Full diagnostic assessments cost £500. If a screening assessment has already been completed, the £150 screening fee will be deducted from the full diagnostic assessment cost.
Support can also include liaison with schools and guidance around appropriate support strategies and Access Arrangements where appropriate.
Support is available for children, young people and older students across primary, secondary and post-16 education.
Brenda Pimblett has over 25 years of teaching experience across primary and secondary education, including whole-class teaching, intervention work and specialist literacy support.

Support is available for learners with a range of literacy and learning needs, including dyslexia, reading and spelling difficulties, literacy fluency difficulties and wider learning differences which may affect confidence, processing, written work or access to the curriculum.
Some learners may also present with overlapping needs associated with ADHD, autism or other neurodivergent profiles. Screening and assessment can help identify strengths, areas of difficulty and appropriate next steps for support, intervention or onward referral where appropriate.
Brenda Pimblett works closely with families and schools to develop a clearer understanding of each learner’s individual profile and the support strategies that may help them access learning more successfully.
Support may also include guidance for schools and families around appropriate classroom strategies, exam support and Access Arrangements evidence.
